Massa, n d spirit of Sportsmanship

a wonderful weekend when i found myself tied to d TV.
n this only happens bout once/twice in a yr?
well this happened accidentally, when i went to make myself a warm cup of Milo,
n d excitement in d nearby TV loungeS drew my attention, soon to find myself among d crowd of F1 fans.

I must admit tat it was a wonderful race.
watchin F1 cars speedin lightning fast, passing through d heart of the business district of SG.
d scenary was fantastic, with only d track lit up, n d crowd hidden behind dim lights.
everythin was well done, n praise rung loudly for SG GP. ::claps:: ::thumbs-up::

my deepest impression of d nite goes to Ferrari's Felipe Massa @ d pit-stop,
    n this was wat happened:

n i was like " WAT? Massa just pulled off d refuel hose?"
notice tat Raikkonen's Ferrari was just behind, waitin to be refueled.

Anyway, wat impressed me most was Massa's attitude towards d incident.
He just lost 5 more pts to d leader Hamilton (adding up to a total of 7) due 2 d pit-stop disaster, which happened to b d mechanic's fault,
but this was wat he said:
"We are all human beings, everyone makes mistakes. I am not the sort of person who goes to a guy and fights with him.
"So I went to the guy and gave him even more motivation because we need him and we need everybody together for the last three races of the season."
a TRUE SPIRIT of SPORTSMANSHIP!!! totally admire his kind of act =p

ohya n just in case u r a bit lagged behind, Fernando Alonso was crowned Formula One's prince of darkness, after streaking to the chequered flag at the sport's first night-time grand prix in Singapore ^^

    don_t

ps, so sry for pushin 2 hard, i was just tryin to get closer =\

    Project 10^100

Project 10^100: Google Wants to Help You Change the World

    Q: What is Project 10100?
A: Project 10100 (pronounced "Project 10 to the 100th") is a call for ideas to change the world, in the hope of helping as many people as possible.

Q: Why is Google doing this?
A: The short answer is that we think helping people is a good thing, and empowering people to help others is an even better thing.

Q: What criteria will be used to select the winning ideas?
The following five criteria will be considered by the advisory panel in evaluating and selecting the winning ideas:

Reach: How many people would this idea affect?
Depth: How deeply are people impacted? How urgent is the need?
Attainability: Can this idea be implemented within a year or two?
Efficiency: How simple and cost-effective is your idea?
Longevity: How long will the idea's impact last?

Q: What do I get if my idea is chosen?
A: You get good karma and the satisfaction of knowing that your idea might truly help a lot of people.

    Submission Deadline:
    October 20th, 2008

Some u-need-to-know Q&As tat will clear ur doubts lol~~
ohya saw some feedbacks on "u will get gd karma n satisfaction" if ur idea was a winning entry
n more or less hv to agree tat it sounds a bit unreasonable as they will take ur idea to actual application n most prob earn big bucks XD
anyway, if u really wanna change d world, FROM UR HEART, just submit an entry, who knows u might really get gd karma =p

Together we'll make the World a better place ^^

n May Those who Help the Most Win XD

The Last Lecture - a tribute to Randy Pausch

    the last lecture

“We cannot change the cards we are dealt, just how we play the hand.”
    —Randy Pausch

A lot of professors give talks titled “The Last Lecture.” Professors are asked to consider their demise and to ruminate on what matters most to them. And while they speak, audiences can’t help but mull the same question: What wisdom would we impart to the world if we knew it was our last chance? If we had to vanish tomorrow, what would we want as our legacy?

When Randy Pausch, a computer science professor at
Carnegie Mellon, was asked to give such a lecture, he didn’t have to imagine it as his last, since he had recently been diagnosed with terminal cancer. But the lecture he gave—“Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams”—wasn’t about dying. It was about the importance of overcoming obstacles, of enabling the dreams of others, of seizing every moment (because “time is all you have...and you may find one day that you have less than you think”). It was a summation of everything Randy had come to believe. It was about living.

y 5 star? because it caught my tears just right when i read through it. simply touching T_T it should be just another self-motivational book i got from MPH after "The Secret", but with a more specific title "Really Achieving your Childhood Dreams", it really helped me gain faith in my dreams, n view things differently =]

Dont ever laugh at others dreams, becos dreams brought human being new technologies; dreams landed human being on d moon etc. For me, dreams kept my everyday living more meaningful n cheerful, dreams inspired me to create innovations =D
